Title: Trans-friendly bar in Southampton?
Post by: Jackson21 on Nov 21, 2022, 03:37 PM

In a world where trans people are often left out or made to feel unwelcome, it's refreshing to know that there are at least some bars that are trans-friendly. One such bar is located in Southampton, England.

The bar, called The Joiners Arms, has been flying the trans flag since 2015, and has become a popular spot for trans people and their allies. The owner of the bar, Andy Duncan, says that he wanted to create a space where everyone could feel welcome and safe.

"We don't tolerate any kind of hate speech or bigotry," Duncan told The Huffington Post. "We want this to be a place where people can come and be themselves."

The Joiners Arms is not only a safe space for trans people, but also a place where they can have some fun. The bar hosts regular drag queen nights, and recently hosted a party for London's first trans pride parade.

"It's so important to have places like this, where we can just be ourselves and have a good time," said one trans woman who attended the party. "It's a great atmosphere here."

If you're ever in Southampton, be sure to check out The Joiners Arms – it's a trans-friendly oasis in a often hostile world.
