What does it mean to be pansexual?
In its simplest terms, pansexuality is the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction to people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people can be attracted to cisgender people, transgender people, genderqueer people, or anyone else, regardless of their gender identity or presentation.
For some people, pansexuality is a way of rejecting the gender binary, the idea that there are only two genders (male and female) and that everyone must identify as one or the other. Pansexuality is sometimes seen as a more inclusive form of bisexuality, which can be defined as attraction to both men and women.
However, it's important to note that not all pansexual people identify as bisexual, and not all bisexual people identify as pansexual. The two terms are not interchangeable, and it's important to respect the way people identify themselves.
So what does it mean to be pansexual? For some people, it's a way of affirming that they can be attracted to anyone, regardless of their gender identity. For others, it's a way of rejecting the gender binary and expanding their understanding of gender and sexuality. Ultimately, it's up to each individual to define their own pansexuality.
